Historic structures require a unique knowledge base in order to maintain the historical aspects of a building, while incorporating modern materials and construction techniques to meet the requirements of current building codes. Whether it is upgrading the structure for a change in use or repairing a damaged structure, we work closely with the Architect and Owner to preserve the historic fabric of the building, Laird Engineers has a wide range of experience working on historic landmarks throughout the state of Mississippi.

We appreciate and respect the irreplaceable history of each structure we consult on and have the unique knowledge required to maintain the historical features. Jeff has consulted on projects including the Old Capitol Museum, the State Capitol, Jefferson College, Tougaloo Mansion, historic jails, numerous county courthouses, civil rights landmarks, and other structures that have been recognized nationally or statewide as historically significant.
